Starting a business is often a leap of faith, especially when it involves turning a personal passion into a full-time venture. For us at South County Party Co, this journey began with a simple love for crafting and a desire to create a space where family life and work could coexist harmoniously. Today, I want to share how this dream took shape, the values that guide us, and how we strive to bring joy to every kids' birthday, shower, and celebration we help create.

Finding the Dream Behind South County Party Co

Crafting has always been more than a hobby for me. It’s a way to express creativity, unwind, and connect with others. Over the years, I found joy in hosting workshops for friends and family, exploring new crafting techniques, watching their faces light up when they receive a personalized and hand-made gift. Additionally, I find great joy in small event planning for, or to assist, friends and family. These passions planted the seed for South County Party Co.

We wanted to build a business that wasn’t just about selling something, but about sharing the joy of crafting and creativity with others. Our goal was to create a welcoming environment where people could come together, learn, and celebrate life’s special moments. Whether it’s a kids birthday party or a bridal shower, we believe every event deserves a personal touch and a little creative magic.

Balancing Family Life and Business

One of the biggest challenges for many entrepreneurs is finding balance. When we first considered adding South County Party Co to our personal load, we knew it had to fit with our family’s rhythm. We have a kiddo, and his needs come first. That’s why finding the right space, within the right distance of our local communities, and honestly... affordable, was crucial. We were not ready to bet our life on a maybe - because we recognize how many people are struggling to just make ends meet. We have second guessed ourselves 10 times over, but decided living with regret is worse than any outcome that stems from trying.

When we discovered a location that allowed us to work close to home while still holding full time employment, it felt like the perfect fit. This balance means we can be present for school events, family dinners, and everyday moments without sacrificing our business goals. It also means we understand the busy lives of our customers, many of whom are parents juggling their own schedules.

Then we had the thought... what if we created somewhere different for kids to have a birthday party that helps eliminate the stress and pressure on parents, so they can enjoy the moments too? In our own searches for party venues, we have discovered they are either farther than we wanted to travel or far larger and more crowded than we desired.

Creating a Space for Learning and Celebration

At South County Party Co, we offer several different packages- to make crafting accessible and fun for everyone. Whether someone is planning a kids birthday party or a wedding/baby shower, we’re on-site to help you coordinate the event. We have different party enhancements you can consider including in your event and we are also open to unique client visions - with enough notice we can create custom event packages of all kinds!

Our workshops, hosted monthly, focus on a guided craft project for families. For example, we recently hosted a tulip wind chime craft and have an upcoming Mother's Day project ready to go! We are looking forward to the plans we have for summer projects.

We also want to open our space up to other local makers and trade specialist to host their own classes and workshops.

Why Crafting Matters to Us

Crafting is a powerful outlet. It allows us to slow down, focus on the moment, and create something meaningful - not perfect. For families, it’s a way to bond and make memories. For individuals, it’s a chance to express themselves and maybe learn new skills.

Crafting can transform a simple kids birthday party into a memorable event filled with personalized touches. From pet adoption ceremonies (don't worry - they are stuffed pets) and friendship bracelets, to race cars and forensic basics, SoCo Party Co has several different themed party packages aimed at different interests and age groups. Do you have a craft in mind that isn't listed - EMAIL US - We would love to help your vision come to life.

Looking Ahead: Full Send on Our Dream

Deciding to go “full send” with South County Party Co was a big step - honestly, I still get anxious almost daily (just keeping it real) when I think too far ahead. It meant committing fully to our vision and trusting that our passion and hard work would pay off. We’ve been grateful for the support from our friends and family, and we can't wait to become more engrained in our local community. We plan to get involved in local events needing vendors (we can provide small on-site crafts and take-home projects).

We are focusing on creating a welcoming and inclusive space where families and friends from ALL walks of life can come together to craft, learn, and celebrate. Our commitment to balancing family life with business remains at the heart of everything we do - for us, and for you!

If you’re looking for a place to bring your party ideas to life or want to learn new crafting skills with onsite guided help, South County Party Co is here for you. We believe every celebration deserves a personal touch, and we’re excited to help you create unforgettable memories. We will share more with you about our start up journey, other special things about our space (photo booth and interactive GAME WALL) and all the things we learn and achieve along the way!

We can't wait to craft with you!
